Red Bean Dream started when I was pregnant with my first child. Like any expectant mother, I wanted the perfectly decorated nursery. My husband and I decided it was important that the theme should reflect our roots; we were born and raised in the New Orleans area and met while attending LSU. Finding the right decoration was complicated though, as we were living in central Arkansas. In the end, I made art of Louisiana subjects myself to fill the room. After the nursery was decorated, I kept painting, and began to think that there had to be other Louisiana expats like us who could use a little touch of home. Red Bean Dream is for them and anyone else who enjoys our rich culture, wherever they may be.
